We are proud to share that our portfolio company Debut recently announced it is partnering with DIC Corporation to establish sustainable production of high-performance active ingredients for the beauty industry. Targeting the $416B personal care market, this partnership hopes to excel in both cost and performance by bringing novel, high-performing polyphenols to consumers for the first time.
Found in fruits and vegetables naturally, polyphenols are rare, making them unsustainable for use in cosmetics. By creating synthetic samples of nature-derived ingredients that are difficult to access through traditional cultivation, Debut’s platform allows companies to say goodbye to active ingredients like vitamin C and retinol and ushers in new, innovative active ingredients.
This agreement permits the construction of a commercial biomanufacturing facility that will deliver rare and natural ingredients through Debut’s Bio2Consumer™ platform.
