Our Story
We founded SpringTide Ventures in 2018 to give founders an unfair advantage. We chose the name SpringTide because it is the highest tide in the tidal pattern, which only occurs when the moon, sun, and Earth are perfectly aligned. Similarly, the right alignment of resources, vision, and hard work can create a strong foundation for a successful company. And just as spring tides cause the water to rise higher than usual, a well-built company can rise to new heights of success. The theory of disruptive innovation is our north star.
In the 21st century, US healthcare productivity has slowed. We receive worse care, and pay more for it, than comparably wealthy nations. Clinicians are leaving the workforce at a record pace. Health inequities can be directly correlated to zip codes.
Yet there is good news on the horizon. Advances in modern medicine are shifting the paradigm of how we deliver care, measure quality, develop therapies, and pay for it all. Genetic engineering has the potential to eradicate disease in our DNA. Large computational models can surface insights to questions researchers never thought to ask. Process automation can reduce friction in the daily workflows of clinicians. Natural language processing can predict disease. AI models can identify new therapies. Gamified technologies can create positive human behavior change.
We are in the early innings of this paradigm shift. Within our lifetime, we believe humans will cure cancer, provide affordable healthcare to everyone on the planet, and improve the wellbeing of clinicians worldwide. Fully personalized therapies will exist for every disease, which will be diagnosed instantly with the click of a button.
